It’s certainly going to be a busy summer, if my recent run of engagement photo shoots in London is anything to go by! You may have seen in my previous blogs some examples of my couple photography, showing that I’m happy to photograph not only the big day itself, but all the excitement in the lead up to the wedding.
Engagement couple photography
In the case of Julie and Martin, I found myself on the train up to Waterloo to partake in a photo shoot in St. James’ Park. I love doing my wedding photography in London – there are so many beautiful backgrounds to play with, both natural and structural, and St. James’ Park provided the perfect combination of these.
Julie and Martin will be getting married in May this year, and asked me about my engagement photography package as they had never had any professional photos of them taken before. The shoot took place in early November 2016, but the cool weather didn’t dampen our spirits – in fact, the beautiful sunset made for some wonderful silhouette photos.
London wedding photography
There were plenty of fun locations to choose from outside St. James’ Park including the Horse Guards’ Parade, the Mall and the iconic Buckingham Palace. I’m particularly proud of my effect shot with Julie sitting on the stairs – I experimented with multiple exposures and Martin stood at various positions around her.
Of course, we had some more traditionally romantic shots – this was couple photography after all! I made the most of the autumn elements and invited the couple to throw leaves in the air and kiss as the leaves fell around them.
As the sun began to set, we moved onto Piccadilly Circus to capture those quintessential city lights photos. I could already picture the wedding invitations – a mixture of our beautiful day and night shots.
Soon after, Julie had a birthday to celebrate and so I parted ways with the bride and groom to be. I was so excited to look at my work, I started editing the photos on the train back home! It’s great to have a mobile studio with you at all times, and now I can envision their wedding day even more.
There’s not long to go now until Julie and Martin’s big day, and I’m looking forward to sharing the tale of their wedding with you here soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to know more about my couple photography packages, just give me a call using my contact page.
