Even though I have photographed many weddings in Surrey – particularly around Guildford – Northbrook Park Wedding venue was completely new to me. I had the pleasure to document Kelly and Tim’s wedding there last week.
Northbrook Park might be one of the most stunning wedding venues in Surrey. It’s easily accessible via the A31. The old Mansion is completely covered in green surrounded by English gardens with two pretty lakes in reach. The purpose built function hall is bright and airy – a perfect setting for the most important moments. Adjacent to the hall are the gardens and the function conservatory. Generous size lodges are located at the rear end of the venue.
My day started in Kelly’s lodge where she and all the other ladies were getting ready. Two local make-up artists from Surrey were in charge of perfecting the ladies for the big moment. I managed to capture some lovely details of the bouquet, the rings, the shoes and the veil. I asked one of the bridesmaids to assist me with hanging Kelly’s dress into one of the trees. The wind gently swayed the dress around which looked impressive in front of a slightly overcast sky.
I photographed Tim getting ready in his lodge before all of us were asked to proceed to the wedding hall. The wedding ceremony was emotional, lots of tears – happy tears!
The weather couldn’t have been better when the new Mr & Mrs Walton left the hall while the guests cheered and threw confetti.
The park around the venue is probably one of the most beautiful wedding settings in Surrey. We only had 45min for the formal/informal shots so we didn’t even have time to make use of all the beautiful spots there. We probably could have spent a whole afternoon without taking the same picture twice.
The four big letters L O V E were set up inside the reception/dinner venue, which was the perfect setting for various group shots. The evening ended when all guests left the venue with sparklers in their hands.
I had a great day at Northbrook Park Wedding Venue Surrey and I hope I’ll photograph many more weddings there in future.
