To celebrate their recent engagement, Jodie and George booked me in for a professional engagement photo shoot.
The couple hadn’t yet set a wedding date, so this was more of a ‘rehearsal’ to see how they took to professional photography. I’m pleased to say it was a complete success!
Engagement shoot at Tylney Hall Hotel
The couple picked the Tylney Hall Hotel in Hampshire as their photo shoot venue, which was a stunning backdrop for some nice relaxed shots. I tried to teach them some basic couple poses, but they were clearly naturals! They fit together really well and were perfectly relaxed, which made my job nice and easy.
We spent around two hours in total walking around the grounds, making use of the trees, grass and benches. I even asked George to lift Jodie up – he’s a pretty strong man so he had no problem carrying her around!
Reflective effect shots
Despite the time of day, I managed to do some reflective effect and even ‘day and night’ shots. This involves underexposing the picture and using the flash to make it look like moonlight. The result was incredible – you’d never guess we’d only been there two hours! We got some wonderful silhouettes under the hall’s archways plus some all-important close ups of her engagement ring.
After I delivered the finished package to Jodie and George, they asked me what my schedule was looking like next summer. They told me they would pick their wedding date based on my calendar to make sure I was their wedding photographer! This was a huge honour and I feel extremely thankful to be able to photograph their upcoming nuptials – I’m sure they will be beautiful. The wedding looks like it will be taking place text summer, so watch this space for an update next year!
