Actor portrait photography with Libby Braidwood

It’s always a privilege to work with such talented people in my trade, even the up and coming talents! I was delighted to photograph the very gifted child actress Libby Braidwood for her agency portfolio. At Libby’s age she is growing up fast and looking different every year, so I was commissioned by her agent to do some actor portrait photography at my home studio in Guildford.

They say you should never work with animals or children. However, Libby was a joy to photograph! This was clearly not Libby’s first photo shoot – she had all the grace and professionalism of an actress twice her age, coupled with a great smile and a bubbly personality. Thanks to Libby’s professionalism, the whole shoot took only 30 minutes to complete – we got through a whole portfolio while her mother was outside on the phone accepting new auditions.

Indoor and outdoor photography

We started off inside in my home studio, using a simple white background to capture a variety of poses and facial expressions. Libby is naturally funny so we got a lot of lovely natural smiles. Later on we moved outdoors to get some photos in front of the house. Thankfully, the weather was gorgeous so this made for some beautiful shades of green in the background as Libby sat on the grass.

When we were finished, I went into my studio to start working on them straight away (no long commute home for me to contend with!) and sent the edits over to Libby’s mother. She forwarded them to the agency immediately, so now it’s simply just a case of waiting for the phone to ring. I’m sure Libby won’t be waiting for long however – with her talent I’m certain we’ll be seeing her on our screens very soon. I look forward to seeing her shots in my portfolio when she gets her big break! I’ll be proud to call myself one of Libby Braidwood’s photographers in the future.

If you’re a rising star or even a more established performer in search of actor portrait photography, give me a call today and I will be happy to talk through your portfolio.
