Portrait Photography Session with Sophie-Louise Craig

Sophie-Louise Craig is an English model, actress and presenter.
I had the pleasure to do a portrait photography session with her for a new set of portraits and headshots for her agent.

As we wanted a certain amount of flexibility we decided to do this photo session not in the studio but outside. We went to Vauxhall in London, a place I had shot numerous times before.
We started with some full body shots against a white wall in George’s Wharf just a stone-throw away from the Thames. Sophie-Louise has beautiful long hair which looked awesome waiving in a slight breeze. Had we chosen to do this shot inside we would have had to use a fan to create this effect.

I placed a large soft box flash in front of her creating some awesome soft light and shadow effects. I placed another flash slightly behind her to boost the highlights in her hair.

As the ‘Golden Hour’ approached we relocated to the riverbank where we had an incredible view on the setting sun. Even though it was quite chilly already Sophie-Louise pretended it was warm which gave my pictures a bit of a summer feel.

This portrait photography session lasted about 1.5h and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. Sophie-Louise is now using my photos on all of her online profiles both casual and professional.
