Wedding Photography and Videography at Gildings Barn

Jess and Oli

Gildings Barn

Gildings Barn must be one of the cosiest wedding venues in Surrey. The Barn is stunning inside and out, it’s nicely tucked away and is surrounded by lush Surrey countryside.
Jess and Oli booked my ‘combination package’ which means that I shoot both photography and videography without any second shooter. My day started at 8 am at the bride’s house, followed by a stop at the groom’s house before heading to church. After church, we all headed for Gildings Barn for an unforgettable afternoon and evening!

Wedding Photography and Videography

Not many photographers offer videography, especially not without a second shooter. I’ve been shooting both formats simultaneously for years and I’m more than comfortable producing your wedding photos and wedding videos at the same time. For the ceremony and the speeches, I use four static cameras which allows me to produce an engaging multi-camera edit. For the confetti throw and the first dance, I use a GoPro-like camera that sits on my stills camera. And for everything else, I constantly switch between shooting photos and video clips. I hope you enjoy the highlight video as well as the photos and the ceremony and speeches videos below.

The perfect wedding venue

Jess and Oli had to postpone their wedding several times due to the pandemic, so both were crazily excited when the big day was finally here!

Shooting at Gildings Barn is always a pleasure. I have shot at many barns in Surrey but Gildings Barn is definitely a wedding venue that stands out in terms of cosiness and landscaping. The drinks reception took place in the courtyard, accompanied by a string quartet – time for lots and lots of candid shots. For the group shots, we moved onto the lawn behind the barn which provided both perfect light and background. The speeches took place right after the meal inside the barn before everybody headed back outside for coffee and some fresh air.

Gildings Barn offers countless little spots to take photos, so I took the newlyweds for a late afternoon photo shoot. They were very comfortable in front of the camera so I didn’t have to coach them much in terms of posing.

While everybody was enjoying the lovely late afternoon, the band set up inside Gildings Barn. As I never leave after the first dance I managed to capture tons of crazy dance floor snaps as well as nighttime effects shots with the couple after the guests had left.
