One of the challenges of product photography is creating a professional, uniform look that captures the essence of the product features and makes it exciting.
I was asked to photograph the Kosi Koala lunchbox range in a number of different settings – some on white backgrounds and some lifestyle shots. The bright colours suggest these are designed for kids.
One thing that the client were very particular about was the colours. They specified that they wanted exactly the same image for both colours – right down to the positioning of the food in each lunchbox. Naturally, this would have been impossible, so rather than trying to recreate exactly the same image with a different colour, I took a different approach.
I used a spot colour change to mimic the lunch box’s colour and recreate it for the duplicate image. Photoshop isn’t just for airbrushing people – it’s great for product photography!
