Usually, a rainy day is every wedding photographer’s nightmare, but it came in handy for this umbrella product shoot!
The images in this shoot were predominantly taken against a white background for use on ecommerce websites. I started with a few functional shots of the product (superstitious folk: look away now!) and captured a few images of the umbrella open and closed.
Photographing to scale
We wanted to highlight the product’s practical features, including its convenient size, so we photographed it alongside regular household items such as a mobile phone to show scale.
I’m also particularly happy with the close-up water droplet shots. These require an immense amount of concentration for that perfect focus!
We finished with some lifestyle photographs (thankfully, without storms) to show the umbrella in action. It was great to work with a professional model and once again to add to my product photography portfolio.
