While the majority of my projects feature wedding photography, I’m also available for celebrations outside of the big day itself. I first got to know Emma and Chris back in summer 2016 when they booked me for their wedding day photography package. I guess we hit it off – later on in the year, they also called me up and asked me to add an engagement photo shoot to their package!

Why couples choose an engagement photo shoot
With so many costs to think about for your wedding day, you may consider an engagement photo shoot to be an unwanted additional expense. However, I can include these within my wedding photography packages to offer the best price possible, and they’re also the perfect memento to have in the lead up to the big day.
Engagement photos are perfect for giving your invitations, guest books, and even venue decorations that personal touch. They’re also great to have around the house! What’s more, they provide the perfect opportunity for couples to get to know their photographer and get used to practising their best poses in front of the camera. You can visit my contact page if you’d like to know more about my engagement shoot packages.
Engagement photography at Reigate Castle
Being a Surrey-based wedding photographer, it was quick and easy for me to get to Emma and Chris for their engagement shoot. We decided to take the photographs at the stunning Reigate Castle grounds, which offer amazing greenery and comfortable park benches for a relaxed shoot.
Emma and Chris went for a casual feel, and we spent two hours walking around, trying a variety of poses in different locations. The fates smiled upon us in the last half hour however – it was an autumnal day and the sun came out to give us the perfect “golden hour!” The gorgeous warm, low light was ideal for creating that romantic atmosphere, making for a great wedding shoot rehearsal.
The couple took to photography like a duck to water, running, jumping, sitting and kissing. I’m sure Emma won’t be as mobile on the big day in her dress! It was a joy to get to know Emma and Chris and I’m looking forward to working with them again in the spring. Watch this space!
