Wedding Party Photography

Vanessa and Edd

As you’ll see from my shoot with Emma and Scott, I don’t always photograph just the wedding itself. Sometimes I’ll branch out and do a post-wedding studio shoot or in some cases, even indulge in a little wedding party photography.

This was the case with Vanessa and Edd, two beautiful people who just didn’t want the celebrations to end! Florida-born Vanessa married Surrey native Edd recently, and luckily for him, they both now live in The Sunshine State. However, despite the fact they had their wedding overseas, Edd wanted to have a separate celebration for his family and friends back home, which was also attended by some of the couple’s American friends.

Vanessa and Edd called it a “second wedding” and it certainly felt that way! Whilst I (sadly) wasn’t at the first wedding in Florida, I imagine it was very similar, with good spirits all around. The wedding party took place inside a traditional marquee and Vanessa and Edd’s American guests seemed to love the English setting. As a Surrey-based wedding photographer, it was great for me to be able to show off this beautiful county to our international guests!

With this being a wedding party photography project, it was a quick but enjoyable shoot for me. I did not have far to travel and spent two hours on location capturing the good vibes of all the guests. Of course, I made sure I got an array of snaps for all those iconic moments – the guests arriving, the speeches, and even the cocktails afterwards. I had a great time chatting with the couple and their friends, and it was an overall very relaxed atmosphere.

Many of the photographs I took were in black and white, which is a flattering setting for anyone. It gives your photos that timeless effect and I hope Vanessa and Edd look back on this in years to come with big smiles.

As they had already had their official celebrations, Vanessa and Edd asked for a quick turnaround on their photos. I was happy to oblige and their shots were ready within 48 hours. I’m pleased to say they gave me a 5-star review on Reviews.co.uk, which is lovely to see. In my job there’s a real satisfaction to meeting so many wonderful people, and even more so when you know you have made their celebrations special.

Wherever a shoot may be, whether it’s Farnham or Florida, I love the opportunity to capture those memories. If you’re looking for a less formal, wedding party photography package like Vanessa and Edd, please get in touch with me today.
