An autumn sunrise provided the perfect backdrop for Natasha and Darrell’s wedding at Morden Hall. They booked me in for an all-day package, so I started nice and early at the venue.
The girls were ready for a photo shoot! After a few quick shots of the venue exterior, I photographed the bridal party in all their wedding day costume, from dressing gowns to slippers. I hung the dress up on various window frames while the ladies enjoyed their champagne.
Exchanging wedding gifts
It’s common knowledge that the bride always needs more time to get ready, so Darrell arrived later. The respective parties made sure to keep the couple apart, even exchanging gifts from one another separately.
Natasha’s dad’s face was a picture when he first saw her in her dress. He himself was adorned in tartan trousers! It was a very sweet moment, and followed with the pair walking together down the stairs.
A full wedding ceremony
Morden Hall was wall to wall with wedding guests – a popular couple! I took the opportunity to get as many close-up shots as I could, some of which I edited into black and white.
We decided to buck tradition and shot the confetti throwing inside! Then I took the guests outside for some group shots. Look out for the drone above…
As the sun began to descend, the newlyweds and I went for some portrait shots. I managed to create a mock sunlight with the flash. This contrasted beautifully against the autumn colour palette.
The evening festivities
As the party guests arrived, we took some more informal photos with funny poses aplenty. The highlight of the evening had to be Natasha and Darrell’s first dance. I’m not sure if it was the sugar high from the cake or just some strict rehearsing, but it was fantastic! Everybody got into the festive spirit with dancing and party games.
We concluded the evening with a couple of darker shots, starting with a silhouette in the staircase. The final pose was in front of the building, complemented by blue uplighting.
I’m thrilled to say Natasha and Darrell gave me a 5-star review. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer for Morden Hall, please give me a call!
