Woodcote Park is a stunning wedding venue not too far from me in Epsom, Surrey. I had the pleasure of photographing Anna and Tom’s wedding there during 2018’s long, hot summer.
Anna and Tom booked me for a 6-hour wedding photography package, which would cover the ceremony and the festivities afterwards. I started my day in the late afternoon by heading straight to the church.
This was the prime opportunity to capture the smiles of all the guests as they arrived. Tom looked very relaxed for a man about to take his vows! I managed to take a few close-ups of the rings before the bride arrived.
Celebrations at Woodcote Park
Anna very confidently went to address the minister. She walked down the aisle accompanied by her mother, looking radiant as the guests all welcomed her. Tom was grinning from ear to ear!
Following a stunning traditional ceremony, including kneeling in prayer, I finished with some essential “after shots”. Anna and Tom decided to forgo the traditional confetti in favour of bubbles – a nice touch! After this, we jumped on board a bus the pair had hired, heading to Woodcote Park in time for the sunset.
Sunset wedding photography
With the natural light source going down, I captured some family group shots. I also had time to get some close-ups of the finer details such as place settings, before going into reportage mode as the guests mingled.
The newlyweds and I left to explore the grounds of Woodcote Park and take some portrait shots. Then it was back indoors for the speeches and entertainment – and what an entertainer her was!
Anna and Tom had booked an Elvis tribute act. I watched him transform and he really was incredible. I’m pleased to say we hit it off so much, he even booked me for some portraits two months later!
As the evening died down, I finished with a shot of cutting the wedding cake before saying my goodbyes. I had a great time photographing Anna and Tom at Woodcote Park. If you’re interested in wedding photography at this beautiful venue, please give me a call.
