Leatherhead Wedding Photography
Located within a stone’s throw of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Leatherhead is a wonderful Surrey wedding venue location in which I have had the pleasure of working many times before.
One of my fondest memories working in Leatherhead was capturing the big day of Alice and Liam, who, with children and grandchildren between them, certainly did not fit the bill of your ‘ordinary’ married couple. Nonetheless, I had a wonderful time photographing the pair dancing to Elvis Presley in a reportage style, all from the comfortable venue of the Leatherhead Register Office.
With capacity for 58 guests, this modest venue is ideal for smaller weddings but also provides a great setting for family photography thanks to its glorious gardens at the back of the building. Located at ‘The Mansion’ on Church Street, brides getting married there will certainly feel every inch the princess – in fact, it even hosted the wedding of George Harrison back in 1966, so if it’s good enough for a Beatle, it’s certainly good enough for mere mortals like us!
In and around Leatherhead there are plenty of sights to see for friends or family members travelling from afar. One favourite of mine is Ashtead Park, which in itself makes for a wonderful photography setting and even features listed buildings which date back to Roman times.
For an exciting evening reception venue near Leatherhead, personal experience leads me to recommend the Woodlands Park Hotel, which provides a 19th century stately home complete with antique wooden panels and a hugely inviting reception hall. Whatever your style or budget however, Leatherhead lends itself as a beautiful location for a wedding thanks to its outstanding natural beauty. I hope to visit this little town once again in the near future to take on my next set of challenges as a wedding photographer.
