I had a great time with Sophie and Sam, who’d booked me in for an all-day wedding photography and video package.
The couple decided not to have interviews, so for their “teaser” video, I started with a montage of all the wedding props and the venue itself. I played around with the rings and some cufflinks, hanging them on the plants outside.
Wedding ceremony videography at Gatestreet Barn
First up, it was over to the girls to get ready. We started with some shots of their makeup, then some poses outside in their dressing gowns, filming the still shots. After a quick round of filming for the boys, it was time for the ceremony.
My photographer and I positioned ourselves subtly behind the registrar for the ceremony. After a few nerves, they made their way down the aisle together. We followed with the camera facing them, and then changed position to get a shot of one final kiss before the confetti.
I joined my assistant for some group still shots – including a huge “cheers” from everyone! The newlyweds kept leaning in for kisses during these shots. I also homed in on the ornate table settings before the speeches.
The father of the bride got a few jokes with his sage advice on marriage – keep quiet if she is wrong! Sophie also had a few words to say before the evening’s festivities.
With the sun setting, party guests were warming marshmallows on the fire. These were beautifully arranged so I got a close-up, together with some zoomed in clips of the evening’s croquet.
After cutting the cake, Sam and Sophie couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the dancefloor. The lighting and contrast looked great on video, together with the very lively band.
We finished off the evening with some sparklers and a few more portrait shots of the couple. They were showering each other with kisses all day, so it was lovely to be a part of their happy occasion.
